Supporting the
​Douglas County Sheriff's Office

Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council is a non-profit service organization founded to raise funds for extraordinary expenses of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office including continuing education and training for personnel, technological resources and other supplemental equipment.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Advisory Council was formed in May 2004. DCSAC consists of community volunteers dedicated to supporting the Sheriff’s Office by obtaining grants and private donations for needed equipment and education not afforded in the general budget.

How we help

Since the inception of the Douglas County Sheriff's Advisory Council (DCSAC), the funds it has raised have been used for items that enhance the daily operations and provide for the safety of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office personnel. With the help of these funds, the Sheriff's Office has been able to purchase such items as:
  • ​Child Identification System
  • Patrol Bicycles for special events
  • Mobile Computer Terminals for Patrol Vehicles
  • Drug Use is Life Abuse (DUILA) Program
  • Tactical Bulletproof Vests and Helmets
  • Virtra training system
  • Night vision devices
  • Submersible

To date, Douglas County Sheriff's Advisory Council (DCSAC), has raised over $900,000 (with only 1.5% administrative expense) for needed equipment and education not provided in the general budget. DCSAC works hard on obtaining grants and private donations.
ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS

Strong Partnerships

Douglas County Sheriff's Advisory Council knows that strong partnerships within the community are key to the continued success of their mission. DCSAC actively seeks and fosters partnerships with individuals, businesses, and organizations. 

Mission partners include:

  • Partnership of Community Resources
  • Stockdale Creative

And there is still so much work to be done! Equipment and training constantly need updating. Your contributions supplement the Sheriff's Office's ability to serve our community.
